Gen Mobile occupies a very specific niche in the MVNO landscape: it participates in government assistance programs like Lifeline and the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), helping low-income households get connected to wireless service. That is a genuinely positive thing, and we will give credit where it is due. But outside of those programs, Gen Mobile is a bare-bones T-Mobile MVNO with no security features, no true unlimited data, no plan customization, limited customer service, and a 3.5/11 score that places it firmly in our lowest tier.
