Cell Phone Coverage Checker
Enter your address to see which carriers have coverage in your area and find the best MVNO for your location.
How This Works
Our coverage checker uses data from the FCC National Broadband Map to show you which cellular networks cover your address.
Why does this matter for MVNOs? MVNOs (Mobile Virtual Network Operators) like Visible, Tello, and Mint Mobile don't own their own towers. Instead, they lease network access from the big three carriers:
- Verizon — Used by Visible, US Mobile, Straight Talk, Total Wireless, PagePlus
- T-Mobile — Used by Tello, Mint Mobile, Metro, Google Fi, Ultra Mobile
- AT&T — Used by Cricket, Boost Mobile, H2O Wireless, PureTalk
If a network has good coverage at your address, any MVNO using that network should work well for you. This helps you choose the best budget carrier based on coverage, not just price.
Understanding 4G vs 5G Coverage
4G LTE
- Typical speeds: 10-50 Mbps
- Excellent for streaming, calls, messaging
- Most widely available coverage
- Works in most buildings
5G
- Typical speeds: 50-200+ Mbps
- Great for heavy data usage
- Expanding coverage (96% of homes)
- Best outdoors, improving indoors
For most users, 4G LTE is more than enough for daily tasks. 5G is a nice bonus but shouldn't be the deciding factor when choosing a carrier.
Coverage Tips
- 1.Check multiple addresses — Test your home, work, and places you visit frequently.
- 2.Indoor vs outdoor coverage — FCC data represents outdoor coverage. Indoor signal may vary based on building materials.
- 3.Ask friends and neighbors — Real-world experience from people in your area is valuable.
- 4.No contract = low risk — Most MVNOs have no contracts, so you can switch if coverage isn't good.
